Love Your Naked Truth

Talk About Sex Without Fear of Being Shamed

Sexuality is part of being human. It can also carry some of the heaviest shame people bring into therapy.

You may be struggling with desire. Intimacy. Sexual identity. Fantasy. Sexual shame.
Pornography use. The impact of trauma. Or behavior that feels out of control.

Maybe you simply want a place where you can say what is true without watching someone flinch.

Strip It Down Therapy provides sex-positive, sexuality-focused and OCSB/sex addiction therapy for adults. In-person appointments are available near Fishers, and virtual sessions are available to adults throughout Indiana.

Throw Normal Out the Window

What Sex-Positive Therapy Means Here

Let’s just throw normal out the window! In this space, heterosexuality, religion and society no longer define what normal is

when it comes to you and sex. When those historical norms are imposed on others, they become a breeding ground for
shame.

The bottom line is this. If it:

It is a healthy sexuality. Find your Freak and Have Some Fun!

You get to define what a healthy and satisfying sexual life means for you, while making room for honesty, responsibility and the impact of your choices.

When It Stops Feeling Like a Choice

Out of Control Sexual Behavior (OCSB)

Sometimes sexual behavior stops feeling like a choice.

You do something you promised yourself you would stop. Then you do it again.

Pornography, masturbation, hookups, fantasy, online sexual activity or another behavior may have become your primary coping skill.

It may be affecting your work. Your finances. Your emotional health. Your integrity. Your self-respect.

Then shame gets added to the cycle. And shame creates even more pressure to escape.

Kim is trained in treating Out of Control Sexual Behavior, commonly called OCSB. People may also search for help using terms such as compulsive sexual behavior, porn addiction or sex addiction. Whatever language brought you here, treatment does not have to begin by shaming sexuality itself.

The Work

What OCSB Therapy Can Examine

01
Patterns, triggers and escalation
02
The emotional function of the behavior
03
Trauma, addiction and avoidance
04
Secrecy, shame and negative core beliefs
05
Consequences and personal responsibility
06
Consent, boundaries, agreements and sexual health
07
Ways to tolerate distress without automatically using sexual behavior to cope
08
Choices that align with your values and the life you actually want

The goal is not less sexuality for the sake of being less sexual. The goal is greater choice, control, honesty, responsibility and alignment with your values.

Separate What Happened From Who You Are

Sexual Shame and Trauma

Shame can come from abuse, coercion, religious or cultural messages, identity-based rejection, secrecy, betrayal, body image, past decisions or the belief that your desires make you unacceptable.

Therapy can help separate what happened to you from who you are, identify responsibility accurately and challenge the belief that pain or regret makes you permanently unworthy.

When sexual concerns are connected to trauma, the work can move at a pace that respects your nervous system and does not demand disclosure before you are ready.

No Defending Required

LGBTQ+, Kink, BDSM and CNM-Affirming Therapy

You should not have to spend half your appointment educating your therapist. You should not have to defend who you are. You should not have to justify consensual parts of your life before talking about why you are hurting.

Strip It Down Therapy is affirming of LGBTQ+ adults, kink and BDSM communities, sex workers, polyamory and consensual non-monogamy. Consensual identity, interests and relationship structures are not automatically pathologized.

LGBTQ+ Affirming

Sexual orientation and gender identity are not assumed to be the problem. Therapy focuses on the concerns you identify, which may include trauma, shame, family or cultural pressure, authenticity, boundaries, safety, discrimination or emotional health.

Kink and BDSM Affirming

Consensual kink and BDSM interests are not automatically treated as symptoms. Therapy can focus on consent, safety, pleasure, boundaries, communication, emotional wellbeing and any concern you actually want to address.

Polyamory and Consensual Non-Monogamy Affirming

Therapy can explore agreements, boundaries, jealousy, trust, identity, communication, transitions, sexual health and the beliefs you carry about relationships without assuming monogamy is the only healthy model.
Training & Experience

Training, Experience and Therapy Style

Kim has spent more than 30 years working in addiction and more than 15 years treating complex trauma. She is a member
of the global Sexual Health Alliance (SHA), an LGBTQ+ ally and a sex-positive therapist. She is trained in OCSB/sex addiction,
BDSM, kink and polyamory/consensual non-monogamy, and is working toward her sex therapy certification.

That matters because sexuality rarely exists in isolation. Therapy can make room for desire, trauma, substance use, shame, identity, emotional regulation and behavior at the same time.
